This week’s inspiration + texts with my therapist friend

I’ve had a headache for the past, oh, 52 hours. It’s not a migraine, but it definitely makes everything less fun, including my favorite activity of sleeping which is just a travesty if you ask me.

Anyhoodle. Here’s a quick list of things I liked this week.

How to Be an Artist: 33 rules to take you from clueless amateur to generational talent (or at least help you live life a little more creatively).

The Will of God. I’m not kidding you, if you read one thing this week, make it this.

Love what you do in front of the kids in your life. I know I could work on this one, unless I want them to think the only things I love to do are dishes and Twitter.

Don’t follow your passion. Do this instead.

Julia Cameron wants you to do your morning pages. I’m attempting The Artist’s Way, but the morning pages are the only thing I’ve been consistent with. I may have taken a nap today and counted it as my artist date.

I just finished Educated by Tara Westover. The word I use most to describe it is BONKERS, which has now become my go-to word. EVERYTHING IS BONKERS, BUT NOT AS BONKERS AS THE AUTHOR’S STORY.

Finally, having a therapist for a good friend is simultaneously helpful and hilarious.
